Many of us live very busy lives, which can lead to exhaustion, and a feeling we have lost touch with who we truly are and what is really important. In an attempt to meet everyone’s needs, we put ourselves last, and move towards spreading ourselves so thin we are in danger of burning out, or becoming depressed, anxious or disconnected. We might be caring for a loved one, or facing a chronic or life-threatening illness. We might be facing some other personal crises related to a past trauma, or a work or relationship breakdown.
In my counselling session we create the space to stop and take stock of what really matters to you, and to help you discover your authentic self. We often do not feel safe in exposing those parts of ourselves that are hidden, through fear of rejection or being judged. As a counsellor, and when invited, I will guide you to areas in your hidden world where we can explore and reveal your true self. You will become aware of the relationship between your body, your mind and emotions, and your spiritual self. It is in sacred this space that we share a common bond of human fragility and opportunities for life-changing shifts in perspective.
Using my professional and personal knowledge, intuition, wisdom, spiritual self, and my unique gifts, we travel on this exciting journey, exploring those inner spaces yet to be discovered. The spaces where the true and beautiful self resides. My special interest in mindful meditation, yoga, exercise and healthy nutrition provide a holistic and unique place of exploration.

What is Path to Heart Counselling?
Some years ago, the psychological approaches to mental and emotional health, were more focused on a mental-health diagnoses, and strategies around certain medicinal and psychiatric approaches to various diagnoses. Persons diagnosed with a mental health issue often feel embarrassed or ashamed, judged and rejected by family, friends and society in general.
In more recent years, a remarkable shift has occurred within some psychological approaches called “positive psychology.” This approach starts with the premise that each human being is born with innate goodness, and happiness. Through the passages of time and degrees of woundedness, the mind, body and emotions can become obscured behind a thick blanket of past issues.
With this approach, each person comes to realize they do not need “fixing,” rather with the help of a counsellor, opportunities arise where the individual may wish to look through the layers shrouding their innate beauty and loveliness. This is how Path to Heart Counselling was developed.
